I sat here for a bit trying to figure out a good title using an X, but since the games aren’t in full swing yet, nothing really came to mind. So I just used the work practice and tried adding an X into a few places. I know weak! Great Tour this morning. If I had beer and pretzels I would have been yelling at the TV cheering, but it was 7 in the morning and didn’t want to wake Rachael.

Normal Tuesday, I guess. I came in and set up all the Wild Thing decks in the conference room so everyone could check them out and so I could take a cool picture of them for today’s post. I still took the picture, but it was bumped when I realized what the date was and remembered I had totally forgot the XGames Super Park course had opened on Monday for practice.

After taking care of what I needed to do at the office, Bauer and I took off to go check out and possibly ride the thing. This years course is a concrete bowl with wood park stuff on all the decks. There is even a huge capsule that is concrete on the bottom half and wood for the top half, such a masterpiece.

Chase, Gary, Doyle were my favorites getting their practice on. Rune Glifberg was also skating and has already won the Gold in my opinion. So crazy were his lines. Dude is amazing on transition. Gery ran into some brake issues so we took them off his bike for the time being and he didn’t really like how fast he went without them, haha. It was fun to watch no matter.

If you look at the Flickr there is a photo series showing the whole course. You will see a large 8 foot quarter across one side of the park and right in the middle the Capsule is cut into it. There is a thin strip of ramp that is carvable. Bauer wanted to go over the pipe so bad. When he finally gave it a go he had just enough speed and ended up riding both tires down the edge of the pipe within 4" of dropping to his death. He made it and everyone went nuts since he was literally livin’ on the edge.

Above photo is of Chris Doyle getting interviewed by Adam Taylor and Daniel the Intern from @ridebmx. Daniel does not have a strange nickname and he seems to do okay for himself. Wait, is Daniel the Intern a nickname or a title?
