Up to a lazy morning. I knew I didn’t need to be out to the games until around 12. I walked out into my living room and Jimmy Levan was on the couch. Turns out Ryan forgot his passport when he went into LA last night and had to make a last minute run home to grab it and he needed a ride to the airport since Rachael had to do some work stuff. I said I could do it, fired out some quick errands, like my 30 day move out notice and got dressed for the day.

Jimmy Ryan and I rallied to the airport and dropped Jimmy off at his hotel and Ryan off at the Delta counter. That left him an hour and a half to check in and get on a plane to Japan. I think he made it fine. I headed over the the Home Depot Center just in time to score some good free food and to make it over to check out Vert practice.

When eventually got over to the Vert ramp, damn what a hike and maze to get to, Aaron and Tunny were hanging out on top watching. I joined them and immediately got a rad show from Bestwick. Dude is amazing, always. I can’t wait to watch to contest tomorrow. It should be a good one.

After a bit park practice was going so Aaron, Tunny and I headed that way. Gary was on and feeling out some rad new lines. Practice went good and it was time for street finals. Pack up and walk 100 feet to get ready for that one. The place was packed and I noticed Mark, Emmit and Giant in the stands. I cruised up to see them and to watch the contest.

The contest was nuts! Too much good stuff to write about and there are plenty of websites that already have. I will just say that Reynolds defended Gold, Rookie Ty Morrow won Silver and Bronze was saved for Van Homan. Maybe he will save us all.

The above photo is from my seat in the stands. If you look towards the middle you will see Kachinsky in the first part of a Nolli to Smith grind. Brian killed it and finished just out of the medals.
