So today started with the music from Close Encounters, err, our door bell that plays the same tune. 9am sharp the Time Warner guys were here and ready to connect us back to the internet world and get us stared on phone service. I don’t think any of us fully recovered from the sudden awakening. The day was going to be a busy one and was it ever.

Through the first half of the day we had a visit from 3 phone/internet guys, one very attractive phone system installer, the homeowners brother, and a random cable guy that did not like it when I approached him to ask a few questions. I think 5 of them were in the house at the same and I was running around like a chicken with my head….you know the saying.

Finally around 1:30 the house was back under control and we decided to take back the UHaul on our way to Empire to pick up our server and then grab some lunch. Truck drop off went smooth. The cruise into downtown and Empire went fast and we spent a bit of time in there and more importantly we picked up our server along with some threats from the owners and staff. Empire is great!

After Empire we headed to Rudy’s for the best lunch ever. I ordered a good amount of stuff and we barely dented it all. Bonus was tons of left overs. After wrapping up with the best hand washer ever we hid a tire in the upper part of their parking lot and headed back to the office. Almost immediately after we got to the office I asked who wanted to go ride the ramp at Aaron and Devon’s house. Francis was messing with the server and said he would be right behind us.

The session at Aaron’s was great. Right when I arrived I gave a bunch of the local kids some Odyssey posters and the Boss posed for the above picture. Kids were stoked! I was super stoked to ride with the Duganator and Dave Parrick even showed up to shred, great stuff! After hiding out from a few thunderstorms we called it a night. It started to rain again as we were leaving.

I hit a gas station for the first time since getting down here and I was sitting at almost 50 extra miles driven on my last tank. I wonder if the stretch I drove with the fuel light on changed what my gauge reads and I am now using more, not to sure. When I filled up and did the math I went from an average of 24.9 to 27.8 or so per gallon. Nothing better then thinking your car is garbage and then it getting the best mileage it had in a really long while.

It’s nice to have net access again, it really makes writing these daily updates far better. Well maybe not better, but certainly faster. All my posts from the last few days should be caught up now and I have no excuse not to keep them current. Super beat now and my knee is feeling the riding session earlier.
