What’s up everyone!
Well, we are in mid February and my last update was last year! So let’s forget about 08 and think only ahead! Mr. Trevor gave me the new directions and I’m not going to let him down! Things are going real good to me, since I took my brakes off. Riding became all new and even more fun!
I’m sure a lot of you guys did it at some point, and maybe some of you guys never even had those things hooking on yours bike. Well I’m 25 and things were different on BMX before. But anyways, I’m living that fun change time right now! As soon I took it off I went to Estonia for Simple Session and I had a blast, but I was a little more lost then usual, so I didn’t do as good in competition wise!
I also went to JI-Paraná, which is a city up North in Brazil on the middle of Amazonas Rain Forest! Amazing experience it was. The reason I went there was to help promote the BMX scene up there, which is a whole different thing from all that I knew before! Good people that love the sport just as much as any other of us here, but that have not much money to buy expensive parts and have not many places to ride! Either way, it is not a problem for them seems like. I was real proud to have the event called by my name. I was kind of against it at first, but after that I felt all the love and good intentions they had with me and the event and I couldn’t be happier to be there and had my name on it! I took some DB posters and stickers, vans shoes and some other things to give away… I rode the day of the Jam with all of them and then gave some prizes to the dudes that stood out!! Good stuff!
If Diogo wasn’t one of the most humble guys I’d ever met; I’d take a shot at him right here and pretend that he loves himself so much he had his name put on his car. This car was actually stickered up to promote a contest in Brazil that bares his name.
It’s crazy to see how similar things are around the globe (most likley due to the internets). This shot could have been taken in any BMX town USA. Tight pants and shirts, an assortment of headware and bikes with no brakes and nubber seat posts. Well okay; the kid all the way to the left definitely isn’t conforming to any of the US fashion codes (that I’m aware of, at least), but he’s still flying the rock on horns. That’s Diogo in the white toward the middle.
Now my plans are ride my bike tomorrow, the day after tomorrow and go on… I’m still in Brazil and I guess I will hang on here a little more. The city is about to finish a brand new skatepark, which is pretty crazy, because it’s a pretty small town and that’s the second skatepark! I can’t wait to take some pics and send up to you guys! I designed that skatepark, so I’m looking forward to riding it!
And one more thing before I’m done. My new DB handlebars are about to be shipped to me. Mike is waiting for the first couple pairs and I can’t wait. They will be 28 wide, and 8.125 high! I will definitely let you guys know how they felt to me!
