The iPhone 3G unlock (YellowSn0w) will work with 2.2 firmware and the latest baseband 02.28.00 so follow the steps.

1)Update your iPhone 3G in iTunes to 2.2 Firmware

2)Jailbreak your iPhone 3G with QuickPWN 22 if you have not jailbroken click on this link and watch the video then come back -

3)Now add this source (You only need to add one source i go for Cydia)
