NIGHT OF THE LIVIN SHRED! Gatorade x The Garden “Farewell Common Jam” was an amazing turn out with tuns of good times and amazing riding from Pittsfield’s finest locals. Shout out to T-Bona for capturing all the craziness that when down that day. Heres an edit of it thrown together by Jake Seeley. Enjoy! The Common has been the breading grounds for Pittsfield, Massachusetts BMX and Skateboard talent for over 10 years now. Since they’re building a new park next year they’re planning to tear the Common down this month. The thought of it being gone will definitely bring some tears to our eyes, which is why all of Pittsfield’s youth was at the Common last Thursday for the Farewell Common Halloween jam put on by Jake Seeley, Sponsored by Gatorade and The Garden, big shot outs to them for hooking it up with awesome prizes and tons of Gatorade to fuel the kids for a long hard day of riding. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day to all get together and ride the Common skatepark one last time. It wouldn’t have been a true Common session if the cops hadn’t shown up because of all the chaos. One hundred plus kids showed up and everyone was taking their last shot at riding the park. After the jam, we had a product toss- kids packed at the bottom of the half pipe, pushing and shoving to get that free product, so stoked that we had gear from the shop and lots of Gatorade swag to give away. We also had a costume contest that was pretty hard to judge since most kids who came out were decked out in awesome costumes. Grady Matteson took first place as a Mexican Sombrero man and second place went to local young blood skater Matt Reardon as the Werewolf of London! Overall the ability to bring together all of our local talent one last time to celebrate the times we’ve had at the common and show support for our community was an amazing experience! To see the local skate and BMX scene growing so big really proves how great an influence action sports has on the youth in a community. Having Gatorade support the contest was even better, because it really showed how much they care and support our local riders! We can’t wait to get out there on our new park next spring!
