We start at Derby where we see Cross Country Voyagers and Turbostars, as East Midlands Trains Class 222s (first three we saw were 222010, 222009 and 222011 in that sort of order). Also EMT seemed to be playing with a Valenta power car at Litchurch Lane.
Next we move to a level crossing at Long Eaton where we see and EMT 156 and 222 as well as XC 170s
Finally to the freight hub of Toton. I quote the message left by a Totonian on the bridge “Trainspotters, get a life.” seems tragic to think what must go through these peoples heads. But anyway, we start with a EWS 66 on a mixed train and a Freightliner “Fred” on a coal train. The yard is full of 66s, 60s, and lines of 56s, 58s, and 37s. In the line ups can be seen such locos as “Bont y Bermo”, 60033 in Corus Silver, Euro Cargo Rail Class 66, Ex Mainline Blue 60s and a Loadhaul Grey example.
