Taiwan is a wild place, boy. I got a glance at the first Take samples to be produced over here, not BMX stuff, just commuters and 700c bikes. You know, “the gay” stuff that old fruitcakes like me are into. One of these days as you continue to age, you’ll begin to look silly with the cockatoo hair and, um, slim jeans, and your skeleton just won’t cooperate on the BMX anymore. Have you seen Jimmy Levan’s look lately? WOW! He’s rocking more animal print than the San Diego zoo. Bowie and Rod Stewart sweat his hairdo.

The dude holding the frame is Tai, not Taiwanese. A lot of the welders are immigrants. This dude looks mean, huh? I’ve been to the factory 8 or so times and this guy never says a word or does anything other than scowl. Not that I’d understand anything he says. His work uniform is combat boots and camo pants, in a word, don’t mess with “Small Dave”! His name’s not Dave, but he’s like the Asian version of Big Dave holding down FBM’s welding in Taiwan, so I have secretly begun referring to him as “Small Dave”.
